Billing system
Tariffs (billing plans) are created on the corresponding page in the program’s Administration Console. When creating a new tariff, an administrator can enter a rate per MB of incoming and/or outgoing traffic, as well as the cost per hour for a timed Internet access plan. After a tariff has been created, it must be applied to a user or a user group in order for UserGate to start gathering statistics. Newly created tariffs automatically appear in user properties, where you can check or uncheck them.
Tariffs for a user or a group can also be changed dynamically when certain conditions are met. This is done by creating traffic rules in the UserGate Administration Console. Examples include switching to a different tariff depending on the time of day (one tariff for the day, and another for the night), or reaching a certain spending maximum or download limit.
Finally, administrators can add funds to a user account, and the amount of credit in a user’s account can itself be a rule condition. For example, administrators can set the connection for a particular user to close automatically when their balance drops below a certain amount.
