Radmin 3.0 - Network Installation Instructions
To have Radmin Server 3.0 installed on all or specified domain machines with local "Administrators" group permitted , follow these steps (Windows 2003 Server is used for screenshots):
Unpack LocAdmsPermitted.zip archive. This MST file imports security permissions into registry upon each installation. Preconfigured file LocAdmsPermitted.MST grants full access via Radmin to the local computer "Administrators" group. If you want to make a different configuration (e.g. include your license code to be applied during installation), please refer to the instructions on Making an MST file and then continue with step 2.
2. Edit Group Policy to install on network computers
Launch "Active Directory Users and Computers" and choose "Properties" for domain:
Now edit the default domain policy. It means that Radmin will be installed on each domain computer. If you want to specify, make a different Organization Unit with desired list of computers. Here sample domain name is DOMAIN2:
Check that policy setting is enabled: "Computer Configuration"-"Administrative Templates"-"System"-"Logon"-"Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon":
Then add the MSI package to the list of software for domain computers. Rightclick on "Computer Configuration" - "Software Settings"-"Software Installation", choose New-Package:
Choose rserv30.msi with "Advansed" option:
Then choose "Modification" tab and click Add:
Choose MST file you have downloaded or created:
Click Open - OK.
Check that Radmin Server 3.0 line appeared :
Now Radmin Server 3.0 with customized settings will be installed on all domain computers during next restart or two.
3. Setting firewall exceptions (when necessary)
Launch Group Policy Object Editor, as in step 2 above. Choose Domain Profile. In Domain Profile enable "Allow port exceptions":
And define opened port, 4899 by default:
After next reboot these settings will be applied to domain computers.
